Pool Season Information:

The pools are scheduled to open on Friday May 19th at 12 pm Noon. Lifeguard coverage will not start until May 24th at the earliest (the last day of school), but please read below regarding lifeguard coverage. Planned pool closing date is Sunday, September 17th.

Pool Information and Rules can be found at POOL & TENNIS | Hedgerow HOA (yourhedgerow.com).

2023 Pool Lifeguard Update:

  • With the continued shortage of lifeguards, there is no guarantee that each day will have lifeguard coverage. We will post on the top of the homepage throughout pool season the planned lifeguard schedule for both pools but recognize that lifeguard call outs also happen.

  • If a lifeguard is not present, please observe Swim-at-your-risk.

  • Given the lifeguard shortage, we cannot guarantee lifeguards for private pool parties or HOA social events, but we will do our best to shift coverage to accommodate. If you feel you need a lifeguard for a private party, feel free to procure a lifeguard yourself.

  • Since lifeguards will not be present on a daily basis, please assist by ensuring bathrooms stay clean and stocked with supplies. The board plans to hire a cleaning crew when lifeguards are not present for extended periods of days. Please reach out to the board if you notice a consistent issue with keeping the bathroom stocked with supplies.

Tennis Court Resurfacing: The Hedgerow 1 tennis courts are scheduled for resurfacing during the first week of May, so the courts have been blocked off in the reservation system during the resurfacing. Please do your best to reschedule practices and matches to other courts until I notify via email and FB that the courts are ready for use again.

NEW INTERIM ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL CHAIR: Ben Booker has graciously volunteered to finish out the term of Matt Everard and serve as the ACC until the annual board meeting in October (when the previous board member's position is due for re-election). The board thanks Matt for his service and wish him and his family the best of luck!

Architectural Control Reminders: As spring has arrived and more projects around the house and yards start to happen, a reminder that some of these projects need HOA Architectural Control approval. For all updates & changes to exterior of homes & yards, including but not limited to: painting, exterior remodeling/renovations, landscaping, fencing, re-roofing, structural change to house, or any major changes to your yard. Please provide to the ACC and Board a home improvement application with detailed information - drawings, plans, color swatches, etc. We will try to get back to your request within 48-72 hours. However, by-laws state the board has up to 30 days to approve. Link to ACC forms

Spring Reminders:

  • Landscaping:

  1. Remember that early spring is a great time for fertilizing and weed control for your lawn. Proper fertilization ensures a healthy, dense lawn that maintains a dark-green color and gives weeds a run for their money. Spring is also a good time to trim limbs away from the house to prevent water damage, and intrusive pests. Here are a few tips for successful fertilizing: Always water after fertilizing. If the weather is hot, wait until it cools before fertilizing. Nitrogen is every lawn's most important nutrient, and each type of grass requires different amounts to maintain the highest quality turf.

  2. Homeowners are responsible for all maintenance of lawns, shrubs, trees, and/or landscaping materials. Lawns that are dying or dead, full of weeds, or neglected need attention.

  3. Please remove any dead or dying trees from your property. They pose a danger not just to your house but possibly to your neighbor’s house as well.

  4. Please also keep ivy trimmed and confined to your yard.

  5. Please be sure to clear all gutters and roofs of leaves and mold.

  • Vehicle and RV Storage: No vehicle may be “continuously” parked on the street by homeowners. All cars must be permanently parked in driveways or garages. If cars are parked on the street, it creates a major liability as children may not be seen by oncoming cars. In addition, please store recreational/commercial vehicles, boats, or trailers outside of Hedgerow.

  • Mailbox Replacement: If your mailbox is falling over, rotten, faded, or generally in bad shape, here is a great solution. Check out this company for a replacement mailbox (picture below). The Hedgerow HOA has conferred with Addresses of Distinction and encourages residents to replace a run-down mailbox with a new attractive, metal mailbox like the one below. Link to purchase ($385.57 installed)

Dues: Dues were owed on March 1, 2023, for $795. If you have not yet paid for this year, now is the time before the pool opens back up May 19th. Anyone with late dues, their amenity keycards will be deactivated from use for the pools and tennis courts.

Meeting Notes and Newsletters: These are posted under "More", "Newsletters & More" webpage (NEWSLETTERS & MORE | Hedgerow HOA (yourhedgerow.com). This includes minutes from the Board's most recent meeting in April 2023.
