Pool Season Information:
The pools are scheduled to open on Friday May 17th. Lifeguard coverage will not start until Wednesday May 22nd (the last day of school), but please read below regarding lifeguard coverage for the season. Planned pool closing date is Sunday, September 15th (last Sunday before Cobb's Fall Break).
Pool Information and Rules can be found at POOL & TENNIS | Hedgerow HOA (yourhedgerow.com).
2024 Pool Lifeguard Update:
If a lifeguard is not present, please observe Swim-at-your-risk.
Hedgerow 1 pool will not have lifeguards Mondays and Wednesdays and Hedgerow 5 pool will not have lifeguards Tuesday and Thursday most of the summer. When an HOA event is on a weekday at a pool (Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day), we have done our best to ensure we will have lifeguards at the pool those days. See Pool Information for more details on lifeguard coverage.
Since lifeguards will not be present on a daily basis, please assist by ensuring bathrooms stay clean and stocked with supplies. You can always reach out to the board to obtain the code to the pump room to gain access to cleaning supplies and paper towels/toilet paper. Also, please reach out to the board if you notice a consistent issue with keeping the bathroom stocked with supplies and we will work with Nautix (pool company) to address these issues.
Tennis Court Reminder: The Hedgerow 1 tennis courts are not to be played on for anything other than tennis. Please keep swimmers off if they do not have the proper footwear and equipment for tennis.
Architectural Control Reminders: As spring has arrived and more projects around the house and yards start to happen, a reminder that some of these projects need HOA Architectural Control approval. For all updates & changes to exterior of homes & yards, including but not limited to: painting, exterior remodeling/renovations, landscaping, fencing, re-roofing, structural change to house, or any major changes to your yard. Please provide to the ACC and Board a home improvement application with detailed information - drawings, plans, color swatches, etc. We will try to get back to your request within 48-72 hours. However, by-laws state the board has up to 30 days to approve. Link to ACC forms
Spring Reminders:
Landscaping:
Remember that early spring is a great time for fertilizing and weed control for your lawn. Proper fertilization ensures a healthy, dense lawn that maintains a dark-green color and gives weeds a run for their money. Spring is also a good time to trim limbs away from the house to prevent water damage, and intrusive pests. Here are a few tips for successful fertilizing: Always water after fertilizing. If the weather is hot, wait until it cools before fertilizing. Nitrogen is every lawn's most important nutrient, and each type of grass requires different amounts to maintain the highest quality turf.
Homeowners are responsible for all maintenance of lawns, shrubs, trees, and/or landscaping materials. Lawns that are dying or dead, full of weeds, or neglected need attention.
Please remove any dead or dying trees from your property. They pose a danger not just to your house but possibly to your neighbor’s house as well.
Please also keep ivy trimmed and confined to your yard.
Please be sure to clear all gutters and roofs of leaves and mold.
Vehicle and RV Storage: No vehicle may be “continuously” parked on the street by homeowners. All cars must be permanently parked in driveways or garages. If cars are parked on the street, it creates a major liability as children may not be seen by oncoming cars. In addition, please store recreational/commercial vehicles, boats, or trailers outside of Hedgerow.
Mailbox Replacement: If your mailbox is falling over, rotten, faded, or generally in bad shape, here is a great solution. Check out this company for a replacement mailbox (picture below). The Hedgerow HOA has conferred with Addresses of Distinction and encourages residents to replace a run-down mailbox with a new attractive, metal mailbox like the one below. Link to purchase ($385.57 installed)
Dues: Dues were owed on March 1, 2024, for $795. If you have not yet paid for this year, now is the time before the pool opens back up May 17th. Anyone with late dues, their amenity keycards will be deactivated from use for the pools and tennis courts.
Meeting Notes and Newsletters: These are posted under "More", "Newsletters & More" webpage (NEWSLETTERS & MORE | Hedgerow HOA (yourhedgerow.com). This includes minutes from the Board's most recent meeting in April 2024.
